Only Fools and Horses fans go wild as BBC sitcom legends reunite

'The impact that programme has on so many people’s lives is incredible, thank you'

Only Fools and Horses fans were left reflecting on the “incredible impact” of the BBC sitcom after two of its legends reunited. Sue Holderness – known to fans as Marlene Boyce – shared a selfie taken with former co-star Sir David Jason, who is synonymous with cockney market trader Derek ‘Del Boy’ Trotter – and still wears his clothes.

Sue took to Twitter to share the sweet snap, taken 20 years after Only Fools and Horses officially came to an end with the last of its Christmas specials back in 2003. Alongside the photo, the 73-year-old wrote: “SO lovely to be with Sir DJ again”.

She told fans the snap was taken at the Milton Keyes hotel Double Tree by Hilton as they attended an annual Only Fools And Horses convention. She also uploaded a photo with former production manager Adrian Pegg and director Tony Dow, who has won two BAFTAs for the comedy series, from the event.

Her reunion snap with David, which has around one million views, had fans feeling nostalgic and emotional in replies to the tweet. Lee wrote: “This impact that programme has on so many people’s lives is incredible. Thank you”.

Andy Morgan tweeted: “Wonderful photograph of two British sitcom legends.” Ryan Hindley added: “Two absolute legends, thanks for giving us so much laughter and entertainment.”

Some shared the impact the iconic show has had on their lives and loved ones. Sally Gill wrote: “My niece who is now 40 has watched only fools&horses since being a child, she has bi polar and knows every episode off by heart.

“She absolutely loves del boy and watches every re-run still finding them hilarious, she’s not had an easy life please thank him 4 making her laugh xx”. Sue replied: “I will”.

Mandy Smith wrote: “Every time I see him, he reminds me of my late dad. Same shape face, same sort of “look”, voice and accent. He always makes me smile. He’s an absolute legend. Love him.”

Rachel Krouwel posted: “I am in the middle of rewatching OFAH from the beginning. Still has me laughing and crying even though I know what’s coming. Thank you all for the joy.”

Stuart Webb commented: “And all of a sudden, I feel like I’m home again. Au Revoir to you both. Bonne d’douch.” Ali Bell added: “Wow. What a picture. Love them both. Sitcom heroes”.

Mark Hughes tweeted: “Love you two. Thank you for all the laughs and to all the others still with us.” Mike Brown said: “Wow what a great photo of you both! I still watch OFAH to this day.”
