Italian film legend Gina Lollobrigida, 90, shines in ornate blue dress and black boots as she receives star on Hollywood Walk Of Fame
She’s an Italian film legend who was nicknamed ‘The Most Beautiful Woman In The World.’
And on Thursday, Gina Lollobrigida , 90, was recognized by the Chamber of Commerce with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame for her accomplishments in cinema.
The Italian legend’s star is the 2,628th since the completion of the walk in 1961.
Lollobrigida showed off her style credentials as she hit the red carpet.
The Italian icon dressed up for the occasion by wearing a dramatic blue dress with gold print and lining.
The outfit included a bold gold belt buckle that cinched the waist.
She wore her signature short hair in a voluminous feathery style and accessorized her ensemble with large blue earrings and matching blue layered necklaces. The legendary actress also wore low-heeled black leather boots.
The screen siren starred in several films from the 1950’s including Trapeze, Woman Of Rome and The Hunchback Of Notre Dame.
Among the other movies she is known for are Beat The Devil, Buona Sera, Mrs. Campbell, and Fearless Little Soldier – with her most recent appearance in XXL alongside Gerard Depardieu in 1997.
Humphrey Bogart, who starred with Lollobrigida in her first Hollywood film, Beat The Devil, once said of her: ‘She makes Marilyn Monroe look like Shirley Temple.’
When numerous allegations surfaced against Harvey Weinstein and other male heavyweights in 2017, Lollobrigida confessed that she was also a victim of sexual assault in the film industry.
She told an Italian TV programme that she was just a teenager the first time she was attacked.
‘I’ve also suffered molestation, in fact more than that, and I didn’t say anything about it at the time. I should have complained but I didn’t have the courage. The first time I was 19, I was still going to school. The second time, well I’d rather not talk about it. I was married and I was starting out in films,’ she told Italian TV according to The Telegraph.
