Robin Williams touched a lot of people’s hearts through his acting and comedy, but his most dedicated fans will always be his three children. The late actor’s beloved kids — Zachary Williams, Zelda Williams and Cody Williams — are carrying on their dad’s incredible legacy becoming successful Hollywood stars themselves.
The Mrs. Doubtfire alum, who ԁıеԁ by ѕսıᴄıԁе at age 63 in August 2014, first experienced parenthood during his marriage with Valerie Velardi, having welcomed son Zachary, who also goes by Zak, in 1983. The former couple split after 10 years together in 1988, and Robin moved on with Marsha Garces Williams.
The film icon and his second spouse walked down the aisle in 1989, and that same year, their daughter, Zelda, was born. Robin and Marsha welcomed their second child together and the actor’s third, Cody, in 1991, but they later called it quits in 2010. He then wed Susan Schneider in 2011, and they were married up until his ԁеаtһ.
Robin certainly made an impact on his children’s lives, and Zak proved how important it was to honor his father when he named his first child, McLaurin Clement Williams, after the actor. Zak chose McLaurin, with the nickname Mickey, because that’s Robin’s middle name.
“He’s a squishably cute pterodactyl cooing tiny wonder and I love him so much already,” Zelda gushed on Instagram shortly after her nephew was born in May 2019. “Big shout-out to Mickey on being the fastest swimmer, and huge congrats to @heyoliviajune and my big bro @zakpym on creating this little joy (and poop) factory!”
When it comes to being a father, Zak — who shares Mickey and daughter Zola with wife Olivia June — has been teaching his children all about the actor by watching Robin’s films, including his favorite, Aladdin. “[Mickey’s] mom and I have certainly considered how we want to introduce my son’s grandfather, my dad, into his life,” he told People in March 2020. “Certainly, through his movies and the cartoons that he participated in is a great way.”
As Robin’s grandchildren get older, there’s no doubt they will learn all about the amazing things the Dеаԁ Poets Society actor has done. Sadly, when Robin’s ԁеаtһ anniversary comes around each year, his family finds it hard to cope. That’s why Zelda said she struggles to pay tribute to her beloved father.
“As always, I will not be here,” she shared via Instagram on the sixth anniversary in August 2020. “It’s hard for me on regular, good days to remain the person expected to graciously accept the world’s need to share their memories of him and express their condolences for his loss.”

Zachary “Zak” Williams
Zak is Robin’s oldest child, who was born on April 11, 1983. Like his dad, he pursued a career in acting and is known for starring in the 2008 film The Graduates. Per IMDb, he also has credits in Slow Your Roll: Extreme Comedy, The Me You Can’t See, Robin Williams: Come Inside My Mind and more.
Zachary has learned a lot of life lessons from his dad, revealing the Jumanji alum’s best advice during a Q&A with 18percent.org. “That being unconditionally loving and kind and considerate is one of the secrets to living a full life,” he said about what Robin has taught him. “That and finding connection and common ground, oh, also, finding gratitude in the day-to-day life is a simple, wonderful way to feel good.”
Fortunately, Zak can pass that advice down to his kids, Mickey and Zola. The doting dad announced the arrival of his second child in June 2021, a little more than two years after his son was born in May 2019.
Alongside a photo of his daughter, Zak wrote, “Introducing our newest member of the family, Zola June Williams! Since joining us, she’s getting on amazingly with her big brother @mickeycwilliams and has proven to be one laidback little girl. @heyoliviajune is doing awesome and we are over the moon to be welcoming Zola into the world!”
Zelda Williams
Robin and his second wife, Marsha, welcomed their daughter, Zelda, on July 31, 1989. She is an actress, director, producer and writer, who got her start in Hollywood at age 5.
Zelda is known for voicing Kuvira in the Nickelodeon series The Legend of Korra and playing Chesire in Dark/Web, but she’s also appeared in Jane the Virgin, Criminal Minds, Dеаԁ of Summer and countless others. As IMDb states, she’s set to star in the upcoming film The Knocking.
Cody Williams
Cody is the youngest of the brood, having arrived on November 25, 1991. Unlike his older brother and sister, it appears Cody didn’t get bit by the acting bug, though he has paved a career as a video creator and producer.
In July 2019, the On Stage producer married singer Maria Flores on what would have been his father’s 68th birthday. Zelda revealed the duo got engaged when she shared a photo of them both on Instagram in June 2018.
“To watch you grow from an annoying little brother who I fought with constantly (but definitely loved) into one of the most incredible, I’m honored to know [you],” she gushed at the time.
